Newsletter January to April 2013

Dear internet user,

Elections and Media Consulting (EMC) wishes you a very happy New Year 2013. May this New Year be full of success, fascinating new and challenging projects we hope to achieve together.

2013 will be the year of our development as our team is going to continue to tackle and implement new projects on communication. We will be monitoring the electoral situation in the world, with a particular focus on North Africa and the Middle East where developments and changes are in constant progress.

The team is also interested in the political development related to the electoral processes in other parts of the world including in Europe. The team is paying particular attention and interest to the relatively innovative use of French primaries, such as those recently conducted by the French political party, the UMP. While the recourse to primaries should be lauded, there is still room for technical improvements to be made. While the concept of electing leaders within the political party through primaries increases democratic values and representation, there still is a need to adapt the rules and regulations.

EMC has identified its upcoming benchmarks: we need to conclude the ongoing projects, amongst which some are already at an advanced stage, while others are still in draft form. Their implementation remains technically and legally complex. The picture databank is the first project of the year 2013 and will be launched soon.

With the organization in November 2012 of a conference, EMC started again its training sessions. The theme of the conference was, “the communication strategies within international organizations and the non-governmental organizations”. This training was carried out in Bordeaux in partnership with the communication school Sup de Pub that belongs to the INSEEC group. A similar seminar with workshops is schedule for spring 2013.

In line with its commitment, EMC will continue to enrich its network of technical experts, improve the website by making it as user friendly as possible. We will post political and electoral information, articles, documentation and links to specialized sites.
